Vilnius CHP's Management Board has been elected for a new term

Ignitis Group, a renewables-focused integrated utility, has elected the Management Board of Vilnius Combined Heat and Power Plant (Vilnius CHP) for a new term — two shareholder's representatives and one independent member have been appointed for a four-year term.

Paul K. Dainora, an executive with more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector, has been reappointed as an Independent Management Board Member, continuing the role he held during the previous term. 20 candidates took part in the selection of the independent member, which was carried out with the assistance of the recruitment agency J. Friisberg & Partners.

Ignitis Group's representatives on the Board remain Mantas Mikalajūnas, Head of Group Regulated Activities and Management Board Member at Ignitis Group, and Jonas Rimavičius, CFO and Management Board Member at Ignitis Group — both also served on the previous Board.

Dainora studied mechanical engineering at Villanova University, USA, and holds a master's degree in economics and finance from West Chester University, USA; he currently heads green hydrogen business development at thyssenkrupp nucera AG & Co. KGaA, having gained experience at energy companies in the USA, Canada, and Germany. Mikalajūnas has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector across regulatory and commercial activities and large-scale project management, while Rimavičius is a strategic-level finance professional who has worked on M&A deals and capital-raising projects, including Ignitis Group's IPO and Green Bond issues, and previously worked at Swedbank, EY, and Telia.

Vilnius CHP's waste-to-energy unit has been generating heat and electricity since 2021, processing around 160,000 tonnes of municipal waste annually, and the biomass unit will use approximately 500,000 tonnes of biomass per year once completed.
